Terrigal  A History of the Area
 

This is a book of 376 pages by Liz Parkinson.

It
is the story of Terrigal and the surrounding townships of Erina, Wamberal, Avoca and North Avoca.  It covers the earliest times to the middle of the twentieth century, and contains the answers to the following questions:
  •   Did you know that Terrigal was called “Broxmouth Ville”?

  •   Did you know that Tramway Road was named after a real tramway?

  •   Did you know that Captain Cook named Cape Three Points?

  •   Did you know that there was once a town common in Terrigal?

  •   Did you know that there was once a sawmill at the Haven?

  •   Do you know where Terriwamba was?

  •   Do you know where the proposed township of Willoughby was?

  •   Did you know that Ocean Parade fell into the sea?

  •   What does Terrigal mean?

  •   Do you know where the “Unnecessary Road” was?

    The original book launch was held at the Presbyterian Church hall at Terrigal and was performed by Chris Hartcher, the member for Terrigal.  Many of the families mentioned in the book were able to attend.
